JUVENILE DRUG COURT
In Harford County, Juvenile Drug Court began in Oct. 2000 as an unfunded pilot project, and then was called Juvenile Accountability Court. In Sept. 2001, Court received funding from Drug Court Program of U.S. Department of Justice and, as Juvenile Drug Court, began operation in Oct. 2001.
To increase treatment for drug addiction and reduce criminal recidivism, Juvenile Drug Court sought to help youth who were repeat offenders, heavily involved with drugs and juvenile justice system.
Court ended Dec. 31, 2016, after Department of Juvenile Services stopped funding for treatment of adolescents in Juvenile Drug Court Program.

Under Department of Public Works, Environmental Services Division oversaw solid waste, including landfills and recycling (County Code, secs. 109-1 through 109-24). It also oversaw gypsy moth and noxious weed eradication programs.
