Report to General Assembly due Nov. 1, 2019 (Chapters 661 & 662, Acts of 2019).

In July 2019, the Task Force on Maryland Maternal and Child Health was created (Chapters 661 & 662, Acts of 2019).

The Task Force is to study and make recommendations on how the policies of the Maryland Department of Health can be used as incentive for early intervention and prevention of certain adverse health outcomes. Further study will address how State policies and payment mechanisms could support community- and school-based models of care; under the all-payer model, encourage partnerships to improve child care; assist in collaborations with public health care; and use certain Medicaid data to monitor improvements. Finally, the Task Force is to consider what programs Medicaid should implement.

Authorization for the Task Force ends June 30, 2020.
