SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION SECTION
In 1998, reorganized as Systems Administration, Technical Support, Communications, and Statistical Section.

TASK FORCE TO STUDY EMPLOYER COMPLIANCE WITH WORKERS' COMPENSATION INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS

In 2006, State Workers' Compensation Commission established Task Force to Study Employer Compliance with Workers' Compensation Insurance Requirements. Task Force studied ways to increase compliance with requirement that employers carry workers' compensation insurance, including community education and enhanced penalties. Task Force also considered issues, such as employers' conversion of employees to independent contractors, home owners' failure to insure housekeepers and home health-care workers, and noncompliance in dry cleaning and construction trades.

Task Force submitted its report to State Workers' Compensation Commission on Nov. 12, 2008.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT & COMMUNICATIONS SECTION
Reformed as Computer Operations, Document Imaging, and Data Entry Division in 1998.

VERIFICATION SECTION
Under Claims Division, abolished in 2006.

In July 2009, Work Group to Study Death Benefits for Dependents was established (Chapters 616 & 617, Acts of 2009). Work Group considered possible statutory changes to ensure fair and equitable death benefits to individuals wholly and partially dependent on a covered employee.

Work Group submitted its report to Senate Finance Committee and House Economic Matters Committee on Dec. 9, 2009.
