Report to Commission on Innovation & Excellence in Education due Nov. 1, 2019.
In June 2019, the Senate President and House Speaker convened the Blueprint for Maryland's Future Funding Formula Work Group.

The Work Group is charged with making recommendations for funding the Blueprint for Maryland's Future, passed by the General Assembly in 2019 (Chapter 771, Acts of 2019).

The Blueprint for Maryland's Future is based on the work of the Commission on Innovation and Excellence in Education, and establishes new State policy on education. The Blueprint is expected to transform Maryland's early childhood, primary and secondary education system into a world-class system in which every student reaches their full potential. Funding for the Blueprint is anticipated to expand annually, possibly up to $3.8 billion per year.

The Work Group will study funding formulas comprehensively, and make recommendations for ongoing funding before the 2020 legislative session.
